Patriots Match Longest Winning Streak From Tom Brady Years with Triumph Over Jets

New England matched their top unbeaten stretch since the Tom Brady period as they beat AFC East rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three TDs as the Patriots notched an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the team in 2019

Signal-caller Maye threw for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph extends the New England's advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the New York at the foot after falling to a 2-8 mark

The Jets had taken the lead at Foxborough with quarterback Fields rushing for a short rushing score to finish the Jets' opening drive

But the New England answered in the second quarter as Henderson scored two short rushing scores before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third period to extend the lead to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of Henderson. "He aims to be great."

Fields threw to John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales booted a pair of field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the win
